Naturally, since it would require the Federal government to give up $5 billion in expected bandwidth-auction revenues, it probably won't happen. And we'll probably have emergency-radio problems in the next major disaster, just like we did after Hurricane Katrina and on 9/11. Contrary to some opinion, it's possible to make money and serve the public simultaneously.
