Did the NSA tap phones or not? Did it do so with or without the cooperation of phone companies?
The whole mess is getting profoundly confusing. The biggest problem is the dependence upon ye olde defense, "It makes us safer." Socialism Doesn't Work (2006.05.18)
One's home is no longer one's castle in Britain
Government ministers want to tell people to whom they can sell their homes and to whom they cannot. It's ostensibly a way to prevent vacation towns from turning into ghost towns in the winter, but it's a preposterous overstepping of bounds. If one cannot choose when, how, and to whom to sell one's house, then private property is a joke.
