The new Presidential limo is ready. Unfortunately, the President who will occupy it declares that big government is back -- though there is at least some reason for hope, since the Obama administration seems to be setting up to behave in a more centrist fashion than its rhetoric suggests.



Des Moines radio personality Steve Gibbons, 63 years old and tenured with over 30 years at KRNT-AM, just got fired. Not for poor performance, but because advertising is slow and the company needs to make cutbacks. He's waiting for a kidney transplant and spends 12 hours a week getting dialysis. Nobody should expect to enter broadcasting today without a second career already in mind, or preferably, already in place as a second job.
