Why is the radio industry generally too dumb to apply the Oprah model?
Aside from the long-standing conflict between cheap opinion and expensive information, radio faces an additional challenge in learning to channel listener loyalty into a sort of friendship model, in the same way that Oprah Winfrey so effectively does on television. It's hard to tell how the Oprah model would work on the radio, because even Oprah Radio really isn't done by Oprah herself.
