Wireless electricity
A wireless system for delivering electricity to power-consuming objects like computers and television sets has been demonstrated at the TED Global Conference. The potential of the technology is great, considering the problems that batteries create (they're bulky, they create hazardous waste when they're disposed of, and they're slow to recharge) and the inconvenience of stringing wires everywhere.
