News Adoption for the wrong reasons
Elton John says he wants to adopt a child, in part, because his keyboardist died: "Last week I lost one of my best friends; my keyboard player died of a heart attack at 52. What better opportunity to replace someone I lost than to replace him with someone I can give a future to." Surely he should know better than to talk about "replacing" a friend like one might replace a floor lamp. It was probably just a poorly-phrased sentiment, but he certainly chose his words badly.
