Do we pay our state legislators enough? It seems like there's a pretty high risk in paying only $21,000 a year for a job that keeps most normal people from being able to show up for their "regular" jobs for almost half the year. Do we really want a legislature that effectively prohibits "average Joes" from serving?

If you want to see the new "fair share" proposal working its way through the state legislature, it's Senate Study Bill 1120 and House File 324.

I'm keeping track of a whole bunch of the proposals working through the Legislature this year; some are good, plenty are pretty bad.

More evidence that PowerPoint is a bad planning tool...and good news about the $100 laptop.
