- Politics on Facebook have gotten out of hand. There are too many people getting so whipped up into a frenzy over the upcoming elections that they're insulting their own friends and needlessly questioning the motivations of people they know well. Can't we give one another the benefit of the doubt? We need to remember that the only way to keep a democracy together is to disagree without being disagreeable.
- The word "fundamentally" has to go. When politicians talk about having "fundamental" differences of opinion with their rivals, they're either exaggerating their differences or they really aren't being very American. We tend to agree on the fundamentals in this country -- individual liberties, the free market, respect for the law. We disagree on many smaller issues, but not the "fundamental" issues. It's disingenuous to suggest otherwise.
